I use a one-gallon countertop water distiller to make water for our coffee, tea, and drinking water. I saved my vinegar bottles for storing the water and about every three weeks or so, I run the distiller 24/7 until all jugs are filled. I use a timer to keep from overheating the distiller components and baking the hard water residue onto the boil chamber... much easier to clean. With distilled water, you don't have to clean your coffee makers.
