I started off with a drill bit 2mm smaller than necessary which allowed me to use the compressor bracket as an angle guide. I was expecting the cast iron to be a bit harder that it is and this drilling went a bit deeper than planned. The tapping is quite deep though so no harm done. The 11mm and final 12mm final drilling were shallower. The final drilling couldn't be too deep otherwise the dowel would disappear into the block.
